青城古镇镇名来源：传说与狄青有关

青城又名条城。传说青城的名称和宋朝大将狄青有直接关系。据史料记载，唐朝在此修筑龙沟堡(旧城)。北宋仁宗年间，西夏王李元昊叛乱，时任秦州刺史的宋朝大将狄青为防止西夏入侵，凭借黄河天险，在唐朝龙沟堡的基础上增筑了新城。因为新城东西长，南北狭，故称“一条城”或“条城”。后来为了纪念狄青，将“一条城”叫做“青城”。|
